This was Jill's 4th 'in-studio' session with me, in as many years. She finally was ready to, and made, some gorgeous prong rings! Yes ~ two days of nothing but learning how to properly formulate and create nice prongs for small as well as huge gemstones, as well as how to custom size these beauties. (Please note that I say 'prongs', not claws - when made correctly, they will secure a stone in a ring without the wire across the top). Prongs have their days - either they "happen", or they don't.
Jill began her wire jewelry career, by making magnetic beaded bracelets, and decided to take it a step further - by coming here for classes and with LOTS of practice. Her wonderful family gives her excellent support, and she has graduated from doing just 'arts 'n craft' shows - to taking awards at juried shows!
I also have to tell the world how proud and excited I am for Jill ~ as she has been accepted in the Kentucky League of Craftsmen!! Way to go Jill!! (Now, get back to work.)
