Vivian's Designer Session

This was Vivian Huff's fourth annual visit to my studio for one-on-one classes. I've had a great time watching her work improve to the point where she is starting to formulate her own designs and executes them with patience and precision. With an upcoming wedding in her daughter's future, Vivian wanted to learn to make crowns, tiaras and hair accents for formal occasions. We had a great session, and I'm sure she will be making a lot more wedding jewelry designs in the near future.

Sharon Jones of apache Jct

My last day in Arizona was spent conducting a private class for Sharon Jones, at her home in Apache Junction. She has the most amazing location, with her backyard being the foot of the Superstition Mt's. The Saguaros were in full bloom and the weather was nice enough for us to work on her porch for a while. Sharon's husband is a beginning lapidary with lots of nice material to cab for her newly acquired skills. I am waiting to see what she does with all those gorgeous cabs!

Bead Expo Phoenix ~ 2

Friday's class was to make my 'Yum Drop' gemstone earrings. We had a great class, lots of interaction and information shared, and everyone left with a finished pair of lovely earrings and the wire to make another pair.
During our lunch break, I took the opportunity to wander through the vendor's room where there were booths with all types of beads, findings, books, kits and chain, as well as some finished jewelry. I bought a nice chain maille kit for my daughter Skye, from Anne Mitchell.

Bead Expo Phoenix ~ 1

I've just returned from teaching some great folks while participating as an instructor at Bead Expo Phoenix, (produced by Interweave press). Thursday morning gave my earrings class an unexpected opportunity to have our picture taken together in front of these cool sculptures, (while we were waiting for the alarms to stop and for us to be allowed to re-enter the convention center, after a type of construction incident).

Thursday afternoon I had a large group for the Crystal Wave Ring, but things got crazy at the end and I didn't get a picture - sorry.

Vicky cont.

As Vicky is in the process of relocating from Arizona to California, she expressed a desire to be able to create wired jewelry with the many shells and other items she found at her new home. I designed her classes around these needs, as well as fullfilling her wish to learn to make a beautiful prong ring, with a large sapphire.

Vicky ~ best of luck to you in your new home, and with your new ad-ventures with wearable wired designs!

"California Vicky" in Phoenix

Vicky Lambert had participated in some of my group classes in Tucson this past February and decided she wanted "more". So, last Wednesday we turned my hotel room in downtown Phoenix into a wired classroom for the day. After finding out just what Vicky wished to learn, I had given her 'homework' to practice before our session, so she was ready for her intense one-on-one class. You guessed it ~ prong rings!
